Dr. Martin Akerson – Pelvic pain specialist
Dr. Martin Akerson is Professor at the Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, of OB/GYN. A graduate of Rutgers Medical School, he was granted the degree in Urogynecology at Pennsylvania State Hospital with Dr. John Gale.
He has been engaged as Chief of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at UMDNJ/SOM since 1998. He is employed as the President of Athena Women’s Institute of Pelvic Health in Pennsylvania, New Mexico and had a non-accredited Fellowship Training Program since 2000. He is a fully accredited medical supplier in Allegheny General Hospital, Pennsylvania. He composed scientific labors in journals and books and an inventor in Urogynecology and Laparoscopic surgery.
Through such scientific work, he developed the T-DOC, Urodynamic Catheter technology and organized worldwide trading and spreading facility, T-DOC, LLC.com®, now answerable for 80% of the diagnostic testing produced in the United States for prolapse. He was a Co-founder of IMET (Innovation in Medical Education and Training), dedicated to teaching anatomy and minimally invasive surgery. He was a participant of the Board of Directors of Butler Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Akerson was initiative for starting the mission in the medical sphere in Niger and Rwanda Africa for women suffered from fistulas, female mutilatization and other female reproductive/ GYN issues.
